Hm?? Oh, LOL, while editting this answer I noticed what you meant. You wrote <code> directly, so it got hidden and understood as an HTML tag hehe ok, well, <code> is just an HTML tag. HTML is just a layout toolbox. As so, it will only set layout. In this case, <code> will change the font to look more like a code font. Nothing more. Nothing less ;-) all tag meanings remain and are still interpreted
