The "Temp File" term is commonly used, in P2P vocabulary, to refer to the file where a non-completed download is being saved to.

In aMule, temps files are all those which's file name has the form of *.part where * is a three digits number. This temp files are placed in the Temp Directory set in aMule's Preferences.
