Requirements

This are the requirements to run aMule (the requisites for compiling aMule are mentined in the compilation articles):

Hardware

• An aMule-compatible platform. Though it suppors a wide variety of platforms, some few rare ones are still not (officially) supported.
• A keyboard, a mouse and a screen are strongly recommended for obvious reasons. Though they might not be needed depending on the aMule application you want to run.

Software

Required

• An aMule-compatible operating system is required
• The standard C and C++ libraries
• wxWidgets 2.5.0 or higher (the wxwidgets taste to use (wxBase, wxGTK, wxWin, wxMac, etc) depends on the aMule application you want to use)
• zlib library
• GetText is not absolutely required, but very strongly
• Perl and XChat are required to run some tools in the aMule package

Recommended

• libgd, libjpeg and libpng with xpm support is recommended when for cas tool

Optional

• libcrypto++ is optional and usually not recommended
